4 Summer Food Festivals to Check Out in SacramentoWith the warm and gorgeous weather, there are so many reasons to spend time outside this summer in the Sacramento area. One great way to spend a summer day is at a food festival. Here are several summer food festivals in the Sacramento area to keep on your radar for 2018.

The Pepper Festival

The 2018 Pepper Festival will take place Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 12 to 10 p.m. at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. The kid-friendly food and music festival raises money for local children’s charities. Admission tickets cost $25 for adults. It is free for children under age 13 to attend. At the event, you can eat food from local restaurants and food trucks, sample from a wide selection of local breweries and wineries, and shop from local retail vendors. There will be live music performances from national and local acts.

9th Annual NeighborWorks Art, Wine & Food Classic

The 9th Annual NeighborWorks Art, Wine & Food Classic takes place Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Tsakopoulous Library Galleria on 828 I St. For admission tickets that cost around $40, you’ll get entrance into the event that features wine and beer samples, food tastings from local restaurants and live music. The annual event supports the NeighborWorks Sacramento Region with admission tickets, raffles, and a large silent auction.

Sacramento Wine & Brew at the Zoo 2018

Scheduled to take place May 12, 2018, the Sacramento Wine & Brew at the Zoo 2018 is a fun annual food festival that takes place at the Sacramento Zoo at 3930 W. Land Park Drive. The 21 years old and up even runs from 5 to 8 p.m., though you can buy VIP tickets that will grant you early access to the event at 4:30 p.m. General admission tickets cost $55, with $70 VIP tickets. There are special discounted tickets for designated drivers. While you enjoy samples from local wineries, breweries, and restaurants, you can explore the zoo.

The 5th Annual Sacramento Taco Festival

If you love tacos, you’re in luck. The 5th Annual Sacramento Taco Festival is scheduled for June 2, 2018, in Old North Sacramento along Del Paso Boulevard. It will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost only $7. Not only is the event kid-friendly, it is pet-friendly, as long as your dog is leashed. There will be more than 25 taco vendors, live music, professional wrestling, taco eating contests, and a children’s play area. The event is endorsed by the City of Sacramento and the North Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, among other organizations.

This list comprises only some of the great food-related events that are scheduled to take place this summer in the Sacramento area. Many of these events are annual events you can plan on going to each year. Whether you like to drink beer or eat tacos, there is an event planned in the Sacramento area for everyone to participate in and look forward to.
